About BizSellGuide

BizSellGuide is an independent resource for owners who are selling, or thinking about selling, their business. We are not a business broker. We do not list businesses for sale, we do not represent buyers or sellers, and we do not take a commission on any transaction.

Why we're independent

Almost everything written online about choosing a business broker is written by brokers competing for your listing. That's not advice — it's marketing. We exist to give the seller a neutral, plain-English starting point: what your business is likely worth, what a broker should cost, what questions to ask, and how the process really works.

How we make money

Transparency matters in a trust business, so here it is: we earn revenue by connecting sellers who request help with brokers and service providers that fit their needs, and through clearly-labeled sponsored listings. Sponsorship never changes our editorial assessments or rankings. A paid placement is always marked as such, and a broker cannot buy a better review.

Our methodology

Our guides reflect widely-accepted industry practice and are written to be accurate and current. Figures we describe as general ranges, rules of thumb, or estimates are exactly that — starting points to be confirmed with a professional, not appraisals or guarantees. Where we publish original data from our own research, we say so and explain how it was collected.

Nothing here is legal, tax, financial, or valuation advice. Before you make decisions about selling your business, consult a qualified professional.

BizSellGuide is independent. We are not a business broker, we do not sell businesses, and we do not take a commission on any sale. Our rankings and guides are never influenced by payment. Where a listing is sponsored, it is clearly labeled and it never changes our editorial assessment.
